Dementia Information Living with dementia Living with dementia Living with any form of dementia is a challenge. However, with appropriate care and support, many people with dementia can enjoy a good quality of life. Because BRACE is solely a research charity, we do not have the resources or expertise to help provide or advise on care in dementia. We do, though, work with a range of other charities and private or public sector organisations involved in helping people with dementia (see Conferences and Workshops). BRACE also offers information events in partnership with other organisations from time-time, and you may feel one of these events will be useful to you, you can keep an eye on the events page here to see when they are happening. If you have recently received a diagnosis of dementia, your doctor should have been able to provide you with information about support. You can also contact the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society or the nearest Dementia Action Alliance. Wendy Mitchell is a Sunday Times best-selling dementia author and dementia advocate, she spoke to Sir Martyn Lewis about her experience of dementia in November 2018, at BRACE's Together 4 Dementia conference. You can find some of her words of wisdom and her approach to living well with dementia in the short video at the top of the page.
