Rod Thompson

In Memory

Rod Thompson

11 Jun 1944 - 13 Dec 2016

Rod was a loving man who always put others before himself. His selflessness and loyalty was demonstrated throughout his life, working for the Royal Mail nearly his whole professional career and commitment to Bristol Central Swimming Club, devotion to support his loving family and his passion for Plymouth Argyle no matter where they were in the league! Always one to crack a joke to ease tension, not tolerating conflict, rows or disagreements made him the perfect negotiator and diplomat, which affected everyone from all areas of his life. He will be sadly missed by so many. He fought a brave battle from Lewy Body Dementia for many years and is now finally at peace and free to lay at rest with his wife Jo.

They come no better than Rod, a super man who will be sorely missed. He also delighted in being suitably acknowledged as the best G&T maker in our little group !
