A big group of people from Capital One in front of a lake.

On a wet weekend in September, BRACE charity partners, Capital One, took on a ‘Race Against the Lakes’ challenge.

The team spent two days taking part in scavenger hunts, canoeing across lakes, hiking more than 20 km through the Lake District's stunning but unforgiving terrain, crossing the Honister infinity bridge, and tackling mountain biking trails that would challenge even seasoned cyclists.

By the time the team had finished the challenge and signed the book in Ambleside, everyone was soaked to the bone but absolutely exhilarated, and they were greeted by the sun for the first time all weekend.

Capital One have raised an incredible £44,000 for dementia research in the past year through this challenge, Double Donations Day, selling old computer monitors, and funds from samosa sales, pub quizzes, and an office raffle. This remarkable amount will fund over 2,700 hours of pioneering dementia research. A huge thank you to Capital One for their incredible efforts.
