Dear supporter,
Nothing could have prepared me for the ache of watching someone I love lose themselves, piece by piece, to dementia.
But hope is a stubborn thing. It clings when nothing else does. It lingers, quiet but steady, whispering that change, however small, is always possible.
That is why I fundraise for BRACE, and why I have included a chapter about the charity in my new book about my mum’s dementia.
Becoming a part of BRACE, however small my part may be, has given me a deeper sense of purpose and a place to carry the grief that still catches me off guard.
BRACE didn’t come into my life through a glossy campaign or polished PR. It arrived quietly and meaningfully.
They fund projects that might otherwise be overlooked, lighting the way towards solutions. Seeing exactly where every pound raised is spent has made me feel part of something real, something that truly makes a difference.
Despite the devastation dementia brings to families like ours, and the colossal cost to our health and social care systems, research into dementia remains chronically underfunded.
Promising studies stall because there isn’t money to move them forward. Researchers with brilliant ideas are forced to abandon projects.
BRACE is driven by heart, passion and an unshakeable commitment to a cause that could not be more vital.
Please will you donate today, and help write a new chapter for dementia patients like mum?
Best wishes,
Jayne Connery
