In recent years, BRACE has developed a programme of conferences and workshops to deepen public understanding of dementia, encouraging collaborative work between various organisations involved in dementia.

Conferences take place in Bristol in the autumn and are based on a format of short presentations by expert speakers and a final hour devoted to a panel discussion. Ample time is allocated for networking and visits to exhibitors' tables.

Workshops are run more frequently in conjunction with Bristol Dementia Action Alliance and hosted by local firms. They normally last 90 minutes, with half the time devoted to networking, and are aimed at helping organisations become dementia-friendly. We are looking to develop similar initiatives in other parts of the region.
