News & Events News BRACE seeks new Trustees Do you want to join the fight to defeat dementia? BRACE is looking for new talent to join its Board of Trustees. As a Trustee you will play a key role in steering the direction of the charity to help raise essential funds and award grants for peer-reviewed research projects at universities in South West England and South Wales. BRACE raises upwards of £750,000 a year but has ambitions to grow further to meet the increasing need for research funds. The charity is financially sound and has a robust governance regime. In the past five years alone it has awarded £3.5m in grants, including playing a key role in creating the new Bristol Brain Centre at Southmead Hospital. This year, BRACE marks its 30th anniversary. Thirty years closer to defeating dementia. In line with our Business Plan, together with expected retirements, we are looking for new trustees with skills and experience in the following areas: Finance/accountancy Marketing/communications, especially digital Fundraising Law – especially charity law and legal protection of the elderly The Board meets four times a year at Southmead Hospital.
