BATH Half Marathon 2019

On the 17th March, 15 enthusiastic runners set off to run the Bath Half Marathon on BRACE’s behalf.

Each runner had their own personal reason for supporting BRACE and dementia research, with many of them running for their Nan or Grandad.

In the run up to the race day, Bath was battered by storm Gareth bringing in weather chaos of heavy rain and gale force winds. Fortunately, after days of awful weather, on race day morning the sun was shining bright, the winds had dropped and there was a distinct chill in the air.

15,000 runners took part in the 13-mile race, with all 15 of BRACE’s runners completing the race and receiving their well-deserved finishers medal. For many of the runners it was their first time running a half marathon and all did exceptionally well to get through not only months of training, for the event, but the race itself.

Collectively the runners have fundraised over £4,000 for BRACE, a big thank you to the amazing runners and their sponsors. The donations will be put to good use in the search for a cure for dementia.
