Have you been affected by dementia, either a loved one or someone you know? How much do you know about the risks of developing dementia and what you can do to minimise the risks in your day-to-day life?

During this free public information event, you will receive the most up-to-date advice from dementia specialists, on how you can protect yourself and your family. It’s never too early or too late to take steps to reduce your risk of dementia!

Dementia is a term used to describe a progressive loss of the powers of the brain. These conditions damage brain cells causing memory, communication and thinking problems affecting people’s ability to manage their day to day lives.

BRACE has invited two speakers: Beccy Pracownik, Dementia Specialist Nurse & Becky Cousins, Dementia Research Nurse to guide you through the facts from the fiction. Is your daily crossword helping protect your brain? And other important questions will be answered in just 90 minutes.

Mark Poarch, CEO of BRACE, will also be discussing the role of dementia research and the work is currently funding.

ReMemBr (Research into Memory, the Brain and dementia) is a team that includes neurologists, psychologist and researchers from both University of Bristol and North Bristol NHS Trust. They diagnose and treat patients with dementia and also offer clinical research opportunities to people with and without dementia.
