Alzheimer's Disease International - an umbrella organisation of Alzheimer's groups all over the world. Offers information and support to sufferers and carers.

The Alzheimer's Society with its information on diagnosis and sources of help for sufferers, carers and professionals. Excellent advice and information sheets to download. Alzheimer Canada. Offers a slightly different perspective to the UK sites.

Alzheimer Europe offers practical help for carers.

Alzheimer's Research Trust funds projects throughout the UK in specialist dementia centres.

Information for Carers - The UK government site for all carers.

The Dementia Relief Trust aims to improve the quality of life of dementia sufferers and their carers.

Age Concern - Offers practical help for all elderly people.

Help the Aged - A charity carrying out research into dementia, and providing information and support to older sufferers and their carers and families.

AgeNet - Comprehensive carer information and research summaries from the US perspective.

The Dementia Research Group based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is a leading UK research centre for dementia.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists Site offers a huge amount of information and links to useful sites.

The Kingshill Research Centre in Swindon whose site is very informative both for research and practical help.

The Sheltered Housing Network promotes good practice guidelines for sheltered housing providers for dementia sufferers and their carers.

AHAF - A valuable resource for information on Alzheimer's disease on this American site.

 

 

Bristol-based Groups

Brunel Care (Incorporating Trust) Dementia Care provides carer support services through a series of centres, mainly in the Bristol area.

Dementia Voice is a site mainly for professionals working in the area of provision of support services in the South-West - with a view to improving services and care for people with dementia.

The Princess Royal Trust for carers helps to set up carers centres in the UK to offer advice, information and practical help.
