The Trustees
BRACE benefits from a Board of Trustees who are committed to helping the Charity fulfil its aim of raising funds to help finance the research beeing carried out in the Department of Care of the Elderly. The trustees are essentially responsible for every aspect of the Charity and its work, from the public image to how the money is taken to the bank! They must ensure that everything done in the name of BRACE is within the guidelines it has set for itself and those imposed by the Charity Commission. If anything goes wrong, it is the Trustees who will have to take responsibility.

Administration
The vast majority of the day to day business of BRACE is carried out through the BRACE Appeal Office by the Charity's five paid employees. Chief Executive, Sian MacGowan manages the office with the help of Vicki Fry and three part-time staff: Administrators, Gloria Wenczek, Lesley Whybrew and Assistant Treasurer, John Matthews. Roy Tallis is the Honorary Treasurer and he oversees the implementation of the financial policies.

Appeal Management Committee
The BRACE Appeal Management Committee, headed by Chairman Peter McIlwraith and Vice-Chairman Susan Marshfield, has the responsibility of raising the funds! The committee decides what fund-raising activities it would like to organize for the year ahead (sometimes even 2 or 3 years!) and how each event will be organised. Basically, their job is to get the money coming in through as many avenues as possible with the support of the Appeal Office.

Sub-committees
Many of the fundraising activities involve sale of goods and provision of refreshments. These are coordinated by the Support Committee, chaired by Roger James. The Stock Committee is drawn from this group and is responsible for seeking out items for resale on our many sale tables and also for choosing the BRACE Christmas cards each year.
