The Development of Neurotrophin Related Therapeutics

The Laboratories for Integrative Neurosciences and Endocrinology (LINE) and Dementia Research Group works within the Bristol Dementia Research Group, a joint venture between the North Bristol NHS Trust and the University of Bristol that is divided between four centres:

  • Clinical Research Centre
  • Molecular Neurobiology Laboratory
  • Molecular Genetics and Neuropathology Research Group

    Molecular Genetic and Neuropathological studies into Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias

    The Dementia Research Group, a part of the Institute of Clinical Neurosciences, and the Department of Clinical Science at North Bristol.

    In a joint effort with Professor Seth Love we have a multidisciplinary approach to the investigation of the pathology of Alzheimer's disease. This involves the use of molecular genetic, molecular biological, cell culture in conjunction with histological and immunohistochemical approaches which are largely underpinned by tissue from the South West

    South West Dementia Brain Bank (SWDBB)

    The SWDBB's mission is to support the Dementia Research Group in Bristol in its research into the causes or any other aspects of dementia, provided this has the potential to be of value to sufferers and their families, and to support similar research elsewhere in collaboration with other research groups.
