Leaving a Legacy
Legacies are our biggest source of income and they help to smooth out the inevitable ups and downs that occur in fundraising. When you have ensured that you have adequately provided for your family and friends, you may like to consider leaving a lasting gift to BRACE so that we can continue to support the research that we hope will help to make a better future for all elderly people.
BRACE has compiled a simple booklet called 'Guide to making and changing a Will' that provides a guide to making and updating a Will as well as definitions of legal terms to take with you to your solicitor. Please ask for a free copy by filling in the contact form.

BRACE supporter Deidre Price told us why she wanted to leave a legacy:

'I feel it is vital to find a cure or at the very least more understanding of what is happening in the brain, why it is happening and then hopefully the illness can be cured or managed better.... my husband and I can do our bit in the future to help out.'

Sheila Vaciago, cousin of a BRACE supporter, said:

'Progress in research into the dreaded Alzheimer's Disease will lead to relief in conditions of terrible suffering and distress, as I think this is perhaps the most frightening threat in old age, and one we all hope to avoid.'

A Gift for remembering BRACE

We want to say 'Thank you' to everyone who decides to remember BRACE in their Will.  So far around 15 people have told us that they intend to make a gift to BRACE following their death, and to thank them for thinking of us we have sent them a beautiful signed copy of a limited edition print, created exclusively for us by Brian Sanders.

BRACE likes to acknowledge all those who make a commitment to the future of the Charity and the continued support of the research programme being carried out by Professor Wilcock.  It's even better if we can do it before they pass away.  Please consider letting us know if you intend to leave us a gift - that way we can make sure that everything goes smoothly when the time comes and in the meantime we can send you your print to enjoy.

You can give us as much or as little detail as you wish and we will not disclose any information regarding your gift to any third parties.  Remember, letting us know that BRACE might be a beneficiary in the future doesn't mean you can't change your Will if circumstances change.

Legacies remain a significant part of our income, helping to smooth the ups and downs in fundraising income each year.  They have enabled BRACE to support Professor Wilcock and his team in their efforts to provide new, more accurate methods of diagnosis, new therapies and more information on the causes and mechanisms of these debilitating diseases,  Past legacies have brought us much closer to that longed-for cure and future legacies will help to ensure that we get there.
