BRACE wants to work with businesses, faith groups, schools, colleges, clubs and other groups to raise funds and awareness in the fight against Alzheimer's.

What does this mean in practice? The answer is that it will depend on the business or organisation concerned, and examples are given below.

Adopt BRACE as your Charity of the Year or for a particular event

We have been lucky over the years to receive support from various groups and companies who have adopted us as their charity for the year - or for a one-off event.

Businesses and other organisations that have recently made BRACE their charity of the year include:

What an organisation does to raise funds will depend on its size and the way it works. A golf club usually has a tournament and a dinner for charity. Larger businesses have raised lots through a raffle or by organising a big social or sports event for their staff. Some organise a team to take part in a sponsored activity. Other have held an auction or a cake sale, and one even raffled a parking space each month!

While BRACE benefits financially, the adopting organisation can also benefit in other ways, such as staff morale, teambuilding and being seen to support a good cause.

Sponsor an event or publication

We are always looking for sponsors to take on some of the overheads for events or the production of our BRACE literature. In return for sponsorship, BRACE will fully acknowledge the sponsor in the event programme, in the Newsletter, on the web site or on sponsored literature. This means that the sponsor's name will be seen by thousands of supporters.

Help BRACE while cutting costs

Businesses looking to save money on their phone bills might be able to help BRACE at the same time. We have a partnership with Alliance Communications, which could result in economies for business users and, at the same time, income for BRACE.
