Food for thought

A group of children at Colston’s Lower School in Bristol, together with some of their Mums, held a cake sale in June to raise money for BRACE.

This was a tremendous effort, supported by the school staff, in which the children sold over 800 cakes and raised £201. BRACE would like to thank the children and staff, and all the Mums and others who made the cakes for them.

Head teacher Caroline Aspden said, “Naturally there are charities which we regularly support, but at the same time it really works well when we respond to ideas which the children have. The cake sale in support of BRACE is a very good example because it got pupils talking to each other and their families about an important health problem which can go unnoticed and which touches the lives of so many.”
